Certification Renewal (For CPTN Certified Trainers)

Your CPTN certification status is due for renewal prior to the expiration date. You require 7 CECs to renew for 1-Year or 14 CECs to renew for 2-Years. Membership is included for returning trainers.

Continuing Education Credit Petitions

Relevant courses which are not listed on our Online Courses or Workshops pages can be petitioned. All courses must be completed within 6 months and related to health and fitness.

Required Documentation Submission

We require an image or document of certificates of completion, including updated First Aid and CPR certificates. Information submitted will be reviewed and member account status will be updated once verified.

Membership Renewal (For Non-Certified CPTN Members)

We thank our ongoing supporters who are interested in maintaining their affiliation and continuing without certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Continuing Education Credit (CEC)?

A CEC is the unit of credit CPTN uses for continuing education. One hour of continuing education equals one CPTN CEC (CPTN-1) up to a maximum of CPTN-14 CECs for CPTN pre-approved courses.

Do I need to have First Aid and CPR certification to renew?

Yes – active trainers will need to submit updated certificates for our records. This is a continuous requirement of the field to maintain certification status with CPTN.

Note: Your updated certificate cannot be issued or considered valid without it. We will report it as invalid to incoming verification requests.

What happens to my membership or certification status if I don't renew on time?
  • For non-certified members: If your membership expires, you lose access to our members portal and the benefit of member rates for our services.
  • For certified trainers: If your certificate expires, it becomes invalid and you lose access to our members portal and the benfit of member rates for our services.
