Browsing Data Retention

Modern browsers are retaining older versions of web pages for extended periods. We recommend clearing your browsing data before you begin your browsing session.

Tip: Browsers have an "In Private/Incognito" mode for browsing without data retention.

Browser Specific Instructions to Clear Browsing Data

Important: Avoid performing the following actions while you are still logged in to other sites. You will be logged out. Please complete current tasks before performing the actions indicated on this page.

How to Clear browsing data in Google Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click the Customize and control [⋮] button in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Click Privacy and security section on the left.
  5. Select Clear browsing data.
  6. Open the Time range dropdown and select All time.
  7. We recommend selecting all options except passwords. Use own judgement on whether to clear stored autofill form/credit card data.
  8. Click the Delete from this device button.

How to Clear browsing data in Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click the Settings and more […] button in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings from the menu.
  4. Click Privacy, search, and services section in the left sidebar.
  5. Scroll to Clear browsing data.
  6. Click Choose what to clear.
  7. Open the Time range dropdown and select All time.
  8. We recommend selecting all options except passwords. Use own judgement on whether to clear stored autofill form/credit card data.
  9. Click the Clear now button.

How to Clear Browsing Data in Other Browsers

Each browser provider uses different words for the same action, clearing, deleting, or purging. It can also be located in the Settings or Preferences section.

Confirmation

For confirmation that the browsing data was cleared, dismiss the notification at the top of the page, then refresh the page. It should not return after a regular page refresh; however, it will return once the browsing data has been cleared–confirming that the action was successful.

Important: To view the latest content, please consider clearing or deleting all browsing data.
